All therapeutic services are provided by Dr Doft. Her child work is primarily in peer groups ranging from 2-5 children aged 3-15 years. She has several types of groups depending on their goals and developmental needs. A broad range of diagnostic categories are included. Frequent ones are ADHD, various disorders on the Autistic Spectrum including Asperger's Syndrome, social anxiety, learning and personality issues that interfere with socialization.
The groups are kept small enough so that while there is a definite structure to the session there is an opportunity for Dr. Doft to include different therapeutic goals for different children.
The size of the groups is related to the treatment goals.Sometimes it serves a child best to be seen alone.
